How does the Uboat expansion compare to SH3?

Hello everyone. How does the Uboat expansion (modded) compare to SH3? What are the main differences, and is the gameplay and realism better or worse? I have yet played as a German Kaleun, and I wanted to know what I should start with.

Same question from me, i have sh5 wos and sh3 nygm but find nygm graphics old looking so thought as i have plenty of time might buy sh4 gold and and have a go at uboat missions but wondered if you can get whole sub inside like flacmonkeys for sh3

Ok, this is starting off with, if you go with SH4 Wolves ot Pacific, plain vanilla install of it...

The Uboat missions, covers uboats serving in the pacific, which did occur, just more into the very near end of the war.

As it is, it is not as extensively campaigned out as SH3 or SH5... just be warned.

That said, in & of itself, is ok... if you decide to go with not modding it further.... but...

There are 2 main or mega mods, if you will.. that I feel complement SH4.

Those being:

1. Fall of the Rising Sun: Ultimate English v1.39, which can be found here:

Just follow the directions, which are simple... & at this point in time, only go with FotRS:U-EN v1.39, though you can see of adding in the following to this... but ONLY that 1 for now:

If you are looking for more of a rounded out Uboat SH3/5 feel, then this next... would likely be more your cup of coffee, soda or tea, depending on whatever drink fits for this saying... :D

2. Operation Monsun: Dark Waters v6, which can be found here:

BUT....
Be warned... do NOT attempt to mix the 2 into 1 clean install of SH4... you NEED to do separate complete installs of SH4 & mod 1 with 1 & the other with the 2nd mod set.

To Me, if you are meaning the interiors with using the Op. Monsun mod... still have the same feel as with SH3... SH4, is just SH3 on steroids, if you will... or at least from my perspective, any way... :hmmm: considering that SH4 is newer or younger than SH3.

Just like mileage per gallon, opinions will vary.... :D :yep:
