I've just joined the Subsim community so I would just like to say 'Ahoy' and thanks for having me.
I've been a flight-simulator enthusiast for many years and have put a number of perfectly good aircraft into the sea by accident. I'm therefore quite looking forward to descending beneath the waves deliberately for a change.
I found Subsim after watching the movie 'Black Sea' with Jude Law. It prompted the thought "I wonder if you can get a submarine simulator?". Clearly you can.
As a starting point I have installed Silent Hunter 4 (from Steam) and plan to use the stock version until I get used to it. I have been reading about the various mods here on the forum and have also read about the stock game's shortcomings. I must say however that my first-time experience of the out-of-the box product has been very enjoyable.
I dare say I'll become more critical as time goes by. Then bitter. Then twisted. :DL
Cheers.
