According to the Skipper, Gilligan's Isle is located 250 miles southeast of Hawaii at 140 degrees longitude and 10 degrees latitude (episode 18). The Professor, however, insists that the island is located 110 degrees longitude and 10 degrees latitude (episode 21).

I would like to think the Skipper is correct. During the war he served in destroyers. On the other hand, isn't he the one that got them lost in the first place?

Later, the castaways hear on the radio that the Maritime Board decided the Minnow's disappearance was the Skipper's fault and relieve him of command. The castaways reenact the last voyage using a mock Minnow, including wind and waves. They discover that the Skipper had acted correctly when he ordered Gilligan to throw the anchor overboard, but the First Mate failed to first secure it to the boat.... The next day, the radio broadcasts a bulletin announcing that on the day the Minnow set sail the radio operator issued the weather information from the previous day, failing to mention the approaching storm, freeing the Skipper from blame (episode 85). Fun facts.

I'm also relieved. Skipper came from a Navy family. His father served on the USS Copperfin. Skipper's father was Cookie Wainwright! I'm glad that stain is gone! :har::up:

I always wondered how they could make a 'coconut phone' but unable to build a raft:hmmm: :hmmm:
