If her majesty would restore hanging, drawing and quartering (the Donald) we might be induced to beg her forgiveness and rejoin the commonwealth...:arrgh!: She could even burn the White House again. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/c/c2/The_President%27s_House_by_George_Munger%2C_1814-1815_-_Crop.jpg/1280px-The_President%27s_House_by_George_Munger%2C_1814-1815_-_Crop.jpghttps://ichef.bbci.co.uk/news/624/media/images/77178000/jpg/_77178121_624_still-damaged-destructi.jpghttps://www.bbc.com/news/blogs-magazine-monitor-28833238

And a happy independence day to the Philippines who shook off the colonial yoke (of the US imperialists) on July 4th 1946.

Benedict Aktungbby! Betraying your country to a foreign potentate on it's Independence day, for shame! :nope:

Benedict Aktungbby! Betraying your country to a foreign potentate on it's Independence day, for shame! :nope:Well...it beats being Putin's puppet under The Donald who can't shake off the Moscow stench. At least everyone speaks English around the 'English speaking Lake' for which NATO is named. It is the "lesser of two weevils" as our own 'potentate' has lost his potency!:yep::wah:

Harrumph. We declared independence on 2 July (Lee Resolution). The 4th was just when the final draft of the Declaration of Independence was written.

No it doesn't. You're making unproven accusations about Trump. That does not compare to your own words that were made publicly on the record. If you were a republican the Obama administration would have charged you with the Logan act.

HAPPY Independence day to my American friends.

Secondly

I have always thought that in the country of the free an american have the freedom to say what's on their mind.

I understand this is only legal, if they say what they are allowed to say.

People can say what ever they want.

There may be consequences for what they say, but they are free to say it.

Well, the Brits may begrudge us our version of "Brexit" (really, you shouldn't; you, too, could have ended up with the wreck that is Trump), but it seems one former adversary turned ally has a diplomat who likes not only our country, but, also our music...

Classy guy.

As imperfect as the United States is, my family members here at least have political rights that they once did not.

And as bad as things are with the US now, here's hoping for better days.

It was here in this thread, a dispute between two of my American friends, that made me wonder.
