Hello Captains,

first i must apologize for my bad english, i hope u can unterstand my questions.

I just installed SH5 with the TWoS mod and have some Question about the gameplay. When i try to get the targets range, how must i use the stadimeter. Must i set it on the top of the funnel, flag or mast. I watched some Videos and the people say different things about it so i dont know whats now the right answer.

My second question is are their some tips of getting close to warships? I just doing the first mission were i have to destroy a polish taskforce but they doing zig zagging (cause they get attacked by some german npc airplanes) and i not ably to get close to them cause of their speed.

And final question is, what are the "best" torpedo deepth for impact / magnetic. I thought for magnetic it is 1 meter under the keel, but whats about the impact, when a ship has a draft about e.g. 5 meter?

Thanks all and good hunt.

Thanks.

I have another question. Is there a known bug with the enigma machine? After watching a video i was able to encode a message (key codeword was hydra) , but on the second encrypted message was the key codeword in the allocation list 518 - freya but im not able to change the keyword hydra to anything else. Date is 1939-09-03. Even in the cipher list is nothing with freya.

You can change it. It’s been awhile but it’s somewhere on the screen. I’ll have to check it out.

Hello again,

im on patrol now at the "eastern british coast" or something like that and my watchcrew spotted a norwegian freighter. How do i know if a ship is an enemy or neutral? As far i have seen in silent hunter 3 there is a flag sheet with dates when which nation joins the war. In the SH5 sheet ist the only thing i saw a "neutral" tag. So is everything else a enemy regardless of the date?

Another question is how do i know a patrol is completed? The log say i should start my patrol at AN3932, so i go to the grid and used the grid sheet, after that i go north beginning my patrol. I sunk 5-6 ships with >30k BRT and in the captains log the mission is still flagged as "on-going.

If you press E you should get a window that has Misc labeled. In that are the flags. They have dates when a country is axis, allies, or neutral.
