Not a big fan back in the day but I did rate a few of the UK chart successes.
RIP
R.I.P.! Possible my favourite band.
I first heard Kraftwerk at 8 or 9 years old, a friend of mine had a LP with a music of them. One of those all hits kind of album, so in the middle of Duran Duran and other songs, Kraftwerk - Tour de la France.
We liked the song do to the sounds and the melody. Little we new what was about. I read tour like tower, so said something about France tower or it's about a tower in France. :)

Like them or hate them, their influence on contemporary music is hard to be overestimated. To say their sound was iconic for its time, is an understatement. They were extremely influential, like only very few other bands.
Wirrr sind die Rrrobotterrr.
I have a couple of their albums, liked their music, probably my favorite song was "The Model" !
