Welcome to Subsim. :sunny: I hope you enjoy your time here.

I had the chance to visit Requin in Pittsburgh and the Carnegie Science Science Center with which it is associated. I also had the chance to tour LST-325 while it was moored there one summer, close to the Sub. I was attending a wedding and had a nice couple days there touring it all.

Welcome to Subsim!

The only two encounters I've had with submarines was the U-505 in Chicago and the USS Silversides which we ( Me and my fellow shipmates in the Sea Cadet Corps) spent the night on.

The USS Silversides I mean.

Greetings... how long has the Requin been there?

On 21 February 1990 Senator (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Senate)John Heinz (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Heinz) introduced Senate Bill S.2151, which allowed Requin to be transferred as an exhibit for the Carnegie Science Center (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carnegie_Science_Center) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pittsburgh,_Pennsylvania). On 24 May Requin was towed to Tampa Shipyard for dry docking and hull repairs, in preparation for her move to Pittsburgh. On 7 August she left International Ship Repair in Tampa under tow to Baton Rouge, Louisiana (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baton_Rouge,_Louisiana) where, on 11 August, she was lifted onto barges and began her ride up the Mississippi River (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mississippi_River) and Ohio River (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ohio_River) to Pittsburgh. On 4 September Requin arrived at the Carnegie Science Center (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carnegie_Science_Center), and on 20 October 1990 Requin was dedicated as a memorial and museum exhibit, and opened for tours.
