I have downloaded a few 'Playable' ships, note the word 'Playable' I was hoping they would be 'HumanPlayable' but obviously there is a difference.
So if I add them via the JSGME where do they show up or do you have to make a mission for them?

They'll be in your data/sea folder if it's a ship, in your data/submarine folder if it's a sub.

Thanks John, Yes I know that but that is not what I'm asking.
I can add them to the sim but how do they show up?
I can go in a mission or career or a patrol but they are not in the drop down list.
I can edit the cfg to HumanPlayable but that does nothing, this is what I'm trying to find out, by adding a sub or ship that is listed as 'Playable' but where is it in the sim?

Ah. That's a little more complicated, but not difficult. Following is to add non-player controlled units. I'm not familiar with how to make a unit player usable.
They also have to be in the roster of whatever nation they belong to. data/roster/x/xx, where x means country they belong to and xx means what they are; ship, sub, etc
Campaign:
- if you want them in a campaign, you have to add them to either the campaign.rnd of .scr file.
If you're interested in doing that, just ask. Again, bit of work but not difficult.
Single Mission;
- I haven't messed with these much, so not sure how to add them to these but every single mission has a file with it so open that up with the mission editor and you'll probably see what to do. data/singlemissions/x, where x is whatever language you want to use.

Thanks John, so what I asked earlier is correct then, you can add a vessel but to make it show you have to edit the the mission or career, that is 'Playable' vessels.
To use a vessel yourself in the sim it has to be 'HumanPlayable' I have tried editing a few to try this but had no luck either in SH3 and SH4.
I hope someone who had made a 'HumanPlayable' will come on and answer, I have asked a few via PM but had no reply.
I've seen some really good models and to play them would be great but...

Yes, just adding them to a sea, sub, air folder won't necessarily make them appear in the game.

So now I must learn how to either edit the mission files or write a mission myself to use one lol.

Or have them in a campaign.
