Anyone else seen this? I liked Game of Thrones a lot but I remember being disappointed that it was going to be a fiction. Well this isn't... it's a magnificent imagining of King Alfred's battles to create an English Nation, and revolves around the fortunes of a young saxon Ealdorman, kidnapped and brought up by vikings, who later returns home. We had to watch series one from start to finish it was so compelling

I'm a big fan having watched the first three series and currently watching the fourth which kicked off last month over on Netflix.

A fifth season late in 2021 is expected, but not yet confirmed.

Having said that, I still think GoT was better but the difference in budgets make that practically unavoidable.

I've watched it from the beginning. Haven't started the latest season yet though.

Well we've got season 6 of The Sopranos & then the final season of GoT to watch on DVD next; we don't have a TV and don't stream movies, so all viewing is from disc

I watched the first season of The Last Kingdom, but I liked Vikings better.

I watched the first 2-3 seasons last year. A bit soap-operaish, but I liked it mostly because it was semi-historical and dealt with a period of history (early Middle Ages) which is rarely seen on TV.
