Hi all, I have loaded SH3 from my disk SH3 Revival.. onto an external hdd, then I found and loaded the mods I used to have when the game ran 4 years ago and it worked for a short time but now I get the message "Error loading" or incompatible version... hsie2.act not started patches not applied, I downloaded a patch and when I try to install it the message is "Cannot update SH3.ema v1.0 to v 1.3 Unknown Version, odd because I used to play this version (same disk) same mods and same patch

When a previously h.sie-patched sh3.exe is overwritten with an unpatched sh3.exe the Error-Message will be:

Error loading hsie2.act

Incompatible sh3.exe version found.
hsie2.act not started.
Patches not applied.
---------------------------

This message comes from the hsie.act.
The Error message is telling the Truth.


And as we are at it, an allmost identical 2nd message will occure when the wounded2.act is in use:

Incompatible sh3.exe version found.
Patches not applied.
---------------------------


Another thing is the v1.4 EMEA-update named "silent_hunter_3_dvd_1.4b_emea.exe":

This program cannot update the installed version of Silent Hunter
III EMEA DVD v1.0 to v1.3 because of the following reason:
[Path\FileName.ext]; unknown version.

The message tells the Truth. (even the v1.0 to v1.3 can be misinterpreted)
Most Problem is trying patching an already v1.4 patched version again. Useless and waste of time.

Or the patch is for a differemt version. As the name tells, it is for the DVD-EMEA version of SH3. there are others around. Four i think:

For the "newer" released StarForce-free versions on DVD this patch may not needed, as these may be already version v1.4. Can be easily find out by open the Eyes and look at the right bottom corner in Main-Menu screen.
