If there is any sub game I miss, then it is SH III.

I have two copies of this game-and I have tried everything possible to get my two Win10 computer to run at least one of them.....without any success whatsoever.

Lately I have read a lot about SH III on STEAM.
Some have no problem playing this game on STEAM, while others do.
The positive is, the game comes cheap only 4.99 € so it would not be any disaster if I can't run SH III on STEAM.

If I can run the game on STEAM I have decided to mod the Game with GWX.
I have tried to find GWX Gold, could not find it.

The question is:
In which folder shall I place this GWX mod and shall I extract the file first or ?

Thank in advance.

Thank you for your answer.

It's certainly cheaper than it is on STEAM.

Then my question is

In which folder shall I place this GWX3

So I shall create a new folder(and give it a name) and place it in C:
And during the install I shall change directory to this folder.

Is this correct understood ?

Buy SH3 on Uplay. It is only 2.5 EUR. I have purchased it right now and it runs flawlessly on Windows 10 with GWX3 and ARB WideGui 1920x1080 mods installed. However game graphics is 15 years old so do not expect eye candy. Also patches/mods situation is quite messy. Some folks use Hsie and Stiebler unofficial patches but I cannot get them to work.

I couldn't imagine playing the game without the H.sie and Stiebler patches. What are the problems you're having with them ?
Though if you have a steam install, I have no experience with that.

Nope. All my Silent Hunter games were purchased on Uplay.

Ah. That's a download too though ?

Yup.

Additionally amount of file editing work is too big to my taste assuming I'd enable all options provided by Hsie and Stielber fixes.

I have the cd so chances are your patching problems are related to the download. If you ever get it working, the editing is actually very simple and quick and Stiebler even has a mod where it's already done for GWX. The instructions can make it sound more difficult than it actually is.
Of course, NYGM already has it done too.
