Some of us have been down in the dumps due to this COVID 19 and what it has done to our lives over the last few months.

We are battling an invisible enemy, one that has taken lives accross the globe and put many perfectly fit able people into hospitals.
This virus has decimated economies, put unbareable strain on healthcare services, stretched the people in the vital sectors to the limit.

Coming from the sector i do (Logistics and Transport) it has been up to us to supply the needs of everyone during this crisis, however it is truely down to the medical staff like my sister who does battle every single day in the hospitals to save peoples lives.

Together we each have a role to play.

One single man has bought back the spirit of what it means to be unified with a common cause, the difference is this is not the first time this man has witnessed his country unify for a common cause.

In his time 99 year old Captain Tom Moore was conscripted into the British Army to fight the Nazi menace that was wageing across Europe, Tom would have witnessed the people rise up with a common goal to defeat tyrany.

Today that same man has taught a nation full of people that have never known such a national unity how we can come together for a common cause and how we can overcome the adversity.
Captain Tom is 99 years old and pledged to walk 100 lengths of his 25 meter garden, for a lot of people that would be an easy feat but for someone who is at his age and time of life this is a major achievement.

This man has done more for the moral of the UK and also around the world (they are talking about him here in Canada and the USA) than any pop star or celebrity in my view.

This man has currently raised 23 million pound so far he was only aiming for 1000 pounds.

I sincerely hope this man gets knighted for services to his country past and present, an inspiration to us all that no matter how old together we can achieve.

Great story, Kapitan. :Kaleun_Thumbs_Up:
The health care professionals, like your sister, have been amazing. For them, it's not a job, it's truly how they are and how giving they are in their every day life and affairs. Prime Minister Boris Johnson of the U.K has been battling Covid-19 and is out of the hospital.

New data is emerging that Covid-19 may leave liver, heart and other organ damage in it's wake after the initial symptoms have subsided. For this reason and many others, The health care people and those that serve in various capacities in the hospitals and such truly are hero's as they are literally putting their lives in danger.

The people in logistics and transporting vital good and materials are doing their part and as much as they can as well. Captain Tom Moore is an inspiration and a reminder of that " stiff upper lip " England was known for. Captain Moore came from a time and I'm sure well remembers when it was England that was the lone country that stood in the way of Nazi domination of Western Europe in WW2.

For people like Captain Tom Moore and our health care professionals, It's a way of life. Many prayers for our health care and service people and Captain Tom Moore and Boris Johnson's continued recovery and a heartfelt salute to all of them. :Kaleun_Salute:

@Kapitan,

Thank you for highlighting this heroic old vet. Although it is not new to us here in UK, this man indeed deserves a knighthood. There is at least one knighthood and fan club here. Also signatures on a gov pea list to ask for a parliamentary ruling to ask her mag for a knighthood.

Rare in this day and age, if I may a passage, not mine, just quoted.

A ten minute poem

The Old Soldier. By Trevor Belshaw.

Captain Tom’s a soldier, and
A modest sort of man
At ninety nine he worked out
A money raising plan

He said I’ll get my walking frame
Do a hundred laps of my yard
Before my hundredth birthday
It shouldn’t be that hard

So Tom set out on his crusade
He hoped to raise a grand
To give to nursing charities
Who need a helping hand

Tom marched up and down his yard
Medals glinting on his chest
The nation took to him to their hearts
And cheered him on his quest

Donations flowed like water
The hundred laps were done
The thousands turned to millions
But old Tom soldiered on

We saluted you, the hero
Of your war campaigns
And now in times of trouble
We salute you once again

God bless you, Tom Moore
