Yes i am playing this from stock imagine....
This feature makes:
Ships appear where they never will in the mis files
And adds life to the game.
So instead of using the too big ( over packet in supermods, make the game load long)(that's unnessesery info)mis files where the ships have always the same course I use this feature it adds a lot of shipping almost everywhere.
And about the colour and realism:
Actually it's also intelligence report. The Reich had agents all over the world also england

Here's what I've added to a stock install:
ImprovedConvoys (with it's campaign.rnd file changed so all crewrating=2 up to 3 and all crewrating=3 up to 4. Also increased ships and escorts by 50% in all convoys and made all escorts 100% spawn probability.).
DD_OH_V3.09_20091209162038 (Diving Duck's interior mod).
Scope zoom level fixes - DDucks camera file (just changed the scopes to 1.5x and 6x power, binos and uzo changed to historical standards too).
Airpower 1.4c
Leigh light mod (only in the SH3 Commander date folder actually).
Rub fatigue

Cam ship files (this adds the NYGM cam ships and wolfpacks to a few convoys. Also has NYGM's MAD Catalina and Avenger added to the campaign.scr file).

Air (using NYGM (GWX's works good too) zone and airstrike.cfg files and added GWX's Hudson airplane. Also modded all the squadrons so only one plane attacks at a time.).
Also have various minor graphical, gui and speech mods added. Some require editing the 1024_768.ini file.
In the latest campaign, I'm three patrols in. First, got just over 14k tonnage mostly via a convoy that a wolfpack decimated right when I was attacking. I had to retreat just before firing as an escort had spotted me (night) but I had the last laugh as one of the wolfpack subs sank the escort ! I was then able to recontact the convoy for an attack.
Second patrol was aborted shortly after leaving port due to diesel engine problems. Third, I'm a month in game-time, and am in contact with a convoy that I've shadowed for a couple game days so far.
Have sunk one ship for just under 4k tons from this convoy, but have been driven off by the escorts several times too.
I've started firing all four bow torpedoes (I only use Type VII's) at one ship per attack. Reasons: in reading this was very common, it "simulates" the dud/failure/miss rates better, and helps keep sunk tonnage closer to realistic levels.
Using stock AI and sensor files.
One of the most enjoyable campaigns I've had.

Is higher. But also makes hit difficulter.
+ Recruit always a lot of frischlinge onboard

Would like to try it and see if the simact 2016 works properly with your configuration.
+ I have all info after 1939 banned.

No reason for me to upload it as I didn't create any of this work, only edited it. There are pages of info. about all of these on this site. I would suggest reading them if for no other reason than to see who is responsible for creating all the great work used. Without their work, doing something like this wouldn't be possible.
Stiebler's 2016 weather file will work with any SH3 install. There are other ways to add a lot of it but I just chose files originally made using/for stock files to save from having to import a lot of files from newer work some of which would conflict with some of these.
If you're not already you should also only do any modding to your install via JSGME.
The maker of this also helped create SH3 Commander. Both of these are available at the site above under the folder named "JoneSoft".
