View Full Version : Sunken ships not counted

Just yesterday i sank a norwegian cargo ship and today, when i saved and exited the game i noticed that the tons are not taken into account so it's like i didn't sink anything. Has anybody else stumbled into bugs like this?

Also, my hydrophone operator informs me of spotted ships when we are not under water, is this possible?

Last question regards the meaning of neutral and hostile ports of Norway. Germany is at war with Norway so why are there some neutral ports instead of everything being hostile?

I use the GWX mod.

Thanks for any reply.

The answers to your questions can depend on the date in which your patrol is done. Remember the GWX patrols can start before the war broke out. Some countries and ports may still be neutral depending on the date after September 1939.

In the first patrol tonnage and renown may not be awarded if you changed upgrades or crew on your boat. It is best to delay those changes until you set out on your second patrol.

As for hydrophone operation above water, this may be related to heavy wave action. The hydrophone should not be working until you are below 10 meters depth. You may be diving into a large wave when it temporarily becomes operational.

Not to say changing/adding other scene.dat to GWX (or any other megamod btw) can greatly alter the waves shapes and height (hence hydrophone and sensors)
In other words, activating an other environment mod to original mega mod can change the devs initial work, even break it...

It's my 9th patrol and i am using the same U-boat, the IID, i have promoted some men but no upgrades so far. The date is mid of May of 1940. So i think it's a bug and a first time that happened to me.

About the hydrophone operator, it makes sense what you state, the sea is rough and we occasionally go at 10 meters underwater even when sailing with the engine and not the batteries.

Thanks for your replies.

Oh, shipmate Fifi.... I could hug you.... but in keeping with social distancing, thanks to the Corona virus....

Thank you for your post. I wish I could shout it from the mountains. Long ago, I tried to point the same out to people and it only made them angry.

That’s just what I’ve experienced with my numerous changes always trying to make it better...but in fact often breaking the whole rendering.

Speaking of environments, who is highly tied to all game sensors, i can say (again from my experience on my rig) GWX doesn’t need any changes in its scene.dat and all env files provided by download. All is well adjusted and very fine, waves rendering etc...
Same for LSH3 (wich is the best env to me) and Ccom12 as well (extremely similar to LSH3 - in fact his base with few modifications very well made)
Only WAC5.2 stock environment doesn’t satisfy me at all (mainly waves rendering) and have to apply MEP V6 Environment...to make it acceptable to me (with down sides too)

Yes, happens to me too sometimes. Seems to be a bug, as I cannot seem to track having done anything different than usual before it happened.
