Conning Tower Emblem

Can anyone tell me the procedure to add a custom emblem to my conning tower?

I think the file format is a 256 x 256 .tga file.

What do I name the file and what folder do I put it in?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have been working since the original post of this thread to get an emblem for my conning tower. In 10 days I'm failing to get it to work. I'm missing something.

Anvar your post told me to put the image into

data/Emblems/SubEmblems your name .tga

Does it matter what "yourname.tga" is?

Do I need a specific name for the .tga file in order for SH3 to see it as my ships emblem?

In the readme file is says:

Copy all Tga-Files to: Silent Hunter 3/Data/Emblems/SubEmblems.

How to use the Emblems: In Career Menu, select "Uboat", "Specials", then "Side Emblem."

Well I thought cool,, that I can understand.. I know where all of those folders are..

I installed the images and went to the campaign, went to uboat,, went to specials,, but there was nothing there about "side" emblems or anything else. I know I'm missing something that must appear to those of you well versed in SH3 as an obvious solution, but to this old "clod" I can't seem to figure it out.

I need an "SH3 for Dummies" manual.

This Bipedal Carbon Based Unit (with opposable thumbs) is having issues.

The issue may be that you don't have enough renown in your current campaign yet. At least as I recall from the stock game and GWX, you need to raise a certain amount of renown before you can unlock/access the emblems. Otherwise when you go to the special menu there's just nothing to select. And I think the first emblems you get to access are usually limited to just the flotilla emblems. If this is the case then you just need to do some patrols, sink some stuff, then have a beer and admire your new emblem. All good things come to those who wait!

I think some mods (NYGM?) might unlock them all from the outset. Maybe someone knows how they do this. Another more complicated but effective method is to modify the conning tower texture with an art program. Best of luck!

The /your name.tga

part, means, naming the image you want to add into the /Subemblems folder

to whatever you decide, to want to name it.
