Hello all,
After quite a long break, I have decided to jump back into the battle for the Atlantic. Although this time, I am breaking out my old steam copy of Silent Hunter 3 so I can see where it all really started. I got it installed and running properly with some patching, however now I am curious as to what mods would be the best fit.
I have taken a look through various forums and with some research I have installed the following:
GWX Gold 3.0 (no optional mods activated)
ARB 1920 x 1080 (map appears split in half)
4 Gig Patch (seems to stop CTDs)
Is this a good place to start? Or should I take a closer look at some other mods? I have seen some info about V16B1 and how it fixes some bugs, yet the installation seems quite complicated so I have not attempted that. Is it worth it? Can it be done with Steam? Is it true I need this before I can fix the map problem?
My primary concern is realism and fixing game-breaking bugs through mods, I am not too worried about things looking pretty so graphical mods are not a priority.
Any advice/support would be super appreciated! My apologies if I should be posting this elsewhere, however I wanted to get some insight from this great community. Thanks in advance!
