So - I never made it through the Channel before using up all my fish and most of my ammo. 9 ships killed and returning to Wilhelmshaven; I came across a solo small freighter and took him down by gunfire. 10 ships - a good haul.
Unfortunately a pair of Brit Type-A's entered range right while he was going down and in moments, they were all over me.

Trying to creep away but the water's crystal-clear; even at 40m any movement at all is LOUD. So I'm waiting on the bottom for them to push off.

Then seven more of their buddies show up...

Sigh.

How the heck do I get out of THIS one?!

:haha:

Ahhh... Mr. Creosote! "An after dinner mint, sir?" "No, I shouldn't. I can't eat another bite!" "It's only wafer thin!"... :timeout: :salute:

Chuckle - it wasn't all that bad really.

A couple of destroyers managed to land a couple of damaging depth charges, breaking some equipment but mostly by accident it seems.

They all hung around for a few hours; pinging away, stopping and listening. They all took turns dropping charges - mainly in random locations - largely because it looked good in the report, I guess.

Then some time around midnight they all decided to head for the pub, leaving me alone.

I surfaced and raced through the Dover-Calais choke point with one Tommie far to the North.

Came upon another small freighter just before dawn; this one was armed and got some hits in before I crash-dived. Just light pockmarks; nothing serious. The next one - just off Amsterdam - proved to be helpless but I ran out of ammo before I sunk him.

All in all, a lucrative, if SHORT (4 days) patrol. Hehe - still trying to get to the British Western Approaches to polish off that mission.

Cheers!

I've evaded this kind of situations by just tuning off all the engines, going into silent mode and laying on the very bottom until they go away.
