Hi,
I have once again returned to SH3 and this time have modded the game heavily. I installed ARB WideGui mod and got intererested in the different tools which this mod enables. The RAOBF is a wonderful thing and adds much realism to the game and thus got me interested in playing with no map contact updates as I realized I actually could get firing solutions without knowing the exact location of the enemies from the map. I started researching on how to play without map contacts and it seems that the Attack Disk can give a lot of information, most importantly the direction of the enemy ships and the 90 degree interception angle. However, it seems that due to limitations in the game engine the attack disk found in ARB WideGui mod needs to change the TDC solutions for it to work. This means that changing values on the Attack Disk also changes values in the TDC. If I've understood correctly the attack disk is an invaluable tool for a captain and it is needed if no map contacts are used. So a few questions:
a) Has anyone used the attack disk succesfully even it messes all of your TDC values when used?
b) Has anyone used other solutions (maybe other working mods) for the ingame attack disk?
All replies are welcome and greatly appreciated. I really would want to increase the immersion and remove the map contact updates but this problem with the attack disk makes me think is it worth it.
Thanks :Kaleun_Salute:
