Hello,

I have been trying to get into silent hunter 5 for a while now but finding a good mod list has put me off.

Basically I have looked at wolves of steel, but I really want to try the base game, which is also a bit easier, before moving on.

I am looking for the essential mods that I absolutely need inorder to play the game. For example, I know the range finder simply does not work so does anyone have a good mod to fix that?

Basically what mods to I need inorder to make the game 'functional'?

The stock game is pretty broken if I remember correctly. The Wolves of Steel Mega mod seems to be the end all be all for mods on this game. Might be worth it to "learn" the game that way.

Yea, the thing is I just dont like alot of the changes. Is there a way to revert the ship identification system back to how it is in classic with the book, I find it alot easier to understand.

Press E key and you'll get regular recognition book. The charts you were using are only there there for general education...

Also, check included documentation and watch shome YT videos to save your self from further troubles...
