anyway to customize the keyboard command

The default layout is very badly designed and awkward. I checked out some other custom setups, but none is of my liking. I am trying to find out any tutorial on how I can manipulate certain files or settings to create my own keyboard commands.

I know TWOS mod made some slight changes to the default keymapping. If I use this to change commands.cfg, would that mess up with TWOS?

Ok, I tried the keymapper. it works well so far. Just one question. I am trying to reassign hydrophone needle keys to something else instead of "Home" and "End". But I don't those commands anywhere under current mapping.

Thank you for this mod we are going to try it out. My husband played U-Boat recently and decided to pull up SH5 from the depths. It has been slumbering for many years and he always wanted to play it again, but never realy found the time for it
