Career mission crash

Hi all
Have looked around a lot and can't find the answer to this so hoping you can help!
I'm running Windows 10 and downloaded sh3 from Steam.
All training missions work fine but when I go to career mode the game crashes to desktop on trying to load a mission.
I have tried all the running in compatability mode fixes (run as administrator, in compatability mode for Windows 7 and with high frame rate fix) but still no joy.
Is there something I am missing?
