View Full Version : How did crew get in out in a German type VIIC/41?
As far as I am aware, there is really one way in and out and that is in the hatch in the conning tower - right?
There was the torpedo hatch in the bow for use in emergency. I think there was one hatch aft of the control room as well, maybe in the galley area?

I think there was one just aft of the tower like the viic, just farther down. Could be wrong though
I know of 4 entries into the pressure hull:
1) Forward torpedo loading hatch
2) Conning tower
3) Provisions hatch (above galley)
4) Aft torpedo loading hatch
I ask because on my youtube video, there is a guy who suggests a torpedotube 1 above water which the crew would use as only officers would use the conning tower hatch.
Im sure he is wrong, but still want to double check my understanding.
