cant run gu.exe to patch the game any ideas on how to fix it keeps telling me to activate game even tho its activated on my uplay acc

I had the same problem. I had downloaded the game through the Uplay launcher, and couldn't update the game that way, and couldn't install TWoS in the 'Uplay' version. What I did was bring out ye olde CD and install the game that way, and then the 'gu updater' worked, and could install TWoS. Not sure what your version is, but good luck.
