Hello,
I would like to hear guidance on what subsim I should look at where I only perform the duties of a sub skipper. I don't want to micromanage each station. I want to give commands for the boat or to my officer(s) and let them and their subordinates do their job(s). I hope this make sense?
FYI - I am using Silent Hunter 5, but I am open to other possibilities.
Any suggestions?

A lot of the older sims were pretty much limited to one position.
With Wolfpack you can do that. The question is, can you be convincing enough for them to do it? It's multiplayer crew-cooperation. ;)

Can you please clue me into which ones you are referring to?
PS - I like your tag line.

Thank you for the heads-up, but I have to use the PAUSE button waaaaay too much to do anything multiplayer. I'll have to wait for the single-player iteration.

FYI - Based on how overwhelmed I am with the SH series, I probably should focus on something simple if it exists.
.
Ok. Well Neal did mention that the single player enhancement of Wolfpack is on the horizon. The devs only need to do the bot-crew animations.

Cold Waters sounds like it would be up your alley.

Cold Waters is great for modern sub stuff.
Your best bet is to check out Silent Hunter 1: Commander's Edition and Aces of the Deep.
Both are old DOS games, but crew tasks are simulated leaving you only to make the broad decisions a captain would make.

Thank you for these suggestions.
I will investigate. I hope DOSBox works in Windows 10. I can only imagine what the graphics look like in the DOS games! Look out Youtube... here I come! ;)

A lot of them can be found at https://www.subsim.com/store.html
Some of the older sub sim games are still some of the best in my opinion.
Also check out Crash Dive.
Good Luck to you.
