Bugs me since forever. When submerged at PD I always hear the sound of breakers / wind as if I would be standing on the bridge. I only hear this sound when facing forward, say in the command room. I always hear the breakers / wind when looking at the chart.
IMO if any sound should be audible it should be markedly different from the sound on the surface.
