View Full Version : Enabling SV radar

Stock 1.5 starting a new Balao 1941 career while retaining older patrols. The Mark 16s and 5" guns from earlier were available but I had to modify the files again to utilize both 5" guns and to remove the crew rank limits again. The SV radar option is available but doesn't detect beyond 10 km - obviously not fully enabled somewhere. Any ideas?

Don't mean to be knit picking, but are you referring to either SD or SJ radar?

cdrsubron7, that's the "Elite" air search radar that comes online same time as the Observation Periscope-mounted ST radar, and Mios 4Me, not to sound ridiculous, but just-in-case, have you switched the Range dial?... :salute:

No, I haven't changed any of the in-game settings. In fact, I wasn't aware the air-search radar could be adjusted. I reverted to an earlier save and installed SD radar instead - it worked as per usual, in contrast to the SV.

ST radar? The only options I have are SJ and SJ-1. Is that an option on the Balao?

AFAIK the ST is broken, your periscope goes in a circle.

I forgot about that ETR3(SS)... in stock it is broken, but we do have it functioning as intended in Fall of the Rising Sun Ultimate Edition - thanks to CapnScurvy... at least, as near as we can tell... you no longer get dizzy trying to use the Observation Periscope anyway... :har: :salute:

Strange thing is that SV radar works when I've acquired it normally in late 1945. I recall enabling it in the Balao specific files, but must have overlooked it elsewhere.

Any ideas where?
