Attack Periscope

For the life of me I can't figure out how to get to the attack periscope. I assume its not far from the observation scope -- or is there a shortcut key? And while I'm at it, is there a way to maintain a specific depth after I order a dive -- or is there a mod where I can set the depth as in SH IV ? thanks guys!!

Viking_1957!:Kaleun_Salute: to get to the attack periscope it is necessary to ascend the ladder opposite the nav table; face the ladder squarely/directly; put the cursor on the ladder and move it upward, thus ascending into the conning tower. It maybe necessary to open the lower hatch as well; as when exiting the conning tower upper hatch to access the bridge. Once in the con tower, cursor the attack scope and you're in business. The exterior ladders to the deck on either side of the con tower descending to the deck-gun and ascending back to the bridge are a also little dicey-both up an down. Some practice with the mouse is useful.

If you are playing the stock game then you will need to walk up the command room ladder to the conning tower and click on the attack scope which is on the right hand side.

thanks, pretty sure I tried that - must be one of those finicky things.


SO there are mods that create a shortcut to the attack periscope? Also is there a station where I can control depth?

Used to know all this stuff but reloaded the game after 10 years out of it!

Also is there a station where I can control depth?it gets even finickyier when rushing back up the ladder to the bridge from the deck gun position as a plane is homing your position. I usually do my own gunnnery since it saves shells. Even at highest performance levels you're still better than the gun crew. Using Kretschmer's "one eel, one ship" and finishing the cripples with the deckgun extends the patrol tonnage. Decks awash, whenever possble, gets your feet wet but shortens crash-dive evasive maneuver times. In heavy seas fire on the downroll!:arrgh!:

So Decks Awash will let me control my depth exactly?NO, THE 'UBOATDEPTH CONTROL GUAGE COLUMN ON THE FAR LEFT LOWER CORNER OF THE MAIN GAME INTERFACE(PG13 INST. MANUAL) DOES THAT. AS I RECALL, IT COULD BE CLICKED ON TO SHOW ACTUAL DEPTHS IN METERS AND MANUALLY SET; OR SIMPLY LEFT ON 'IMAGE DEPTH' BUTTONS. I NO LONGER HAVE IT LOADED SINCE UBISOFT CANCELLED SUPPORT.
