View Full Version : Help with TKSS18 installation

Hello all.

I have been playing SH3 for a few months with GWX Gold installed and playing flawlessly.
I have now downloaded TKSS18 German U-boat compilation parts 1 & 2 but having problems installing. No instructions with the mod.

I extracted part 1 onto the desktop followed by part 2, but as they have the same folder name, am I supposed to overwrite part 1 with part 2 ?
Anyway, I tried that and installed via JSGME but the mission loading fails at about 80%.

Also I noticed that when extracting part 2 it showed 'data error : TKSS18 German U-boats Compilation\data\Library\flag.dat'

Tried d'loading twice with the same result.

Any help with this would be appreciated.

Try going to the SH3 Mods portion of this web site. Look for U-Boat Compilation - there's a bunch of stuff in there about how to, and how not to, install the compilation.

flags.dat is not the most important aircraft part. But the mod "weighs" a lot. You may need 4 Gb patch. You will find it in S3F or Stiebler & h'sie v1.6 Patch.

I tried downloading the all in one 'TKSS18 no eagle' version from JCWolf and added the 4 Gb patch and it now works.

However,
Interiors look great, but not the exterior as the conning towers are ok but the hull is all black.

I assume there is a fix for that somewhere?

Why is this is not the best choice?

I fixed the black hull issue with FixAllSubGWX patch.
Only limited game time, but so far, all is good.
