View Full Version : Can not Initialize 3d Engine

Hi guys, i tried to run my old Sh3 again, but every time i activate a widescreen mod i get this error, without it it works fine, i dont know if it helps i have a 1680*1050 monitor but i managed to force it to 1920*1080 trough the graphics card, in the past and i could run it without problems but i cant seem to make it work now, any help would be great.

Set the screen resolution on the desktop to 1024x768. (4:3)

Yeah i already tried that to no avail, i dont know how i managed to get it to work before, maybe because i had a different graphics card?

Do you have the 4gb patch activated ? I think you'll get this message if you're using some types of mods, and don't have the 4gb in use.

Sounds like you need to install DX 9.0c. SH3 needs it in order to run correctly.

You can find DX 9.0c here (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=34429). Just d/l it to a folder that you remember and run the exe file. DX 9.0c is backward compatible with DX 10. It will not harm anything.

I serached online an alternate exe to install 9.0.c and somehow it worked,
