View Full Version : taking notes on marks on the nav chart?

I think I saw something about being able to make a note on the chart using the "mark" pencil. But never figured out how to do it. For a long while I just dismissed it as a feature that never actually got implemented. But tonight I loaded a saved campaign game and saw that one of the marks I had made previously on the navigation chart had a random string of characters under it (rather than the usual "Mark" #). As if maybe I thought I was typing to my notepad (I play in windowed mode and make contact notes in a notepad), but the focus was on the game.
So is there a way to put notes to the marks we make on the nav chart?

Not that I'm aware of. The closest I get to making notes is "X" marks the spot, or "O" if using the compass tool, ---- with the ruler, etc... sigh. Loading a saved game can cause "glitches" in the display and sound as, and immediately after, it loads. :salute:

I've always thought that would be nice. especially when I'm trying to figure
out the speed of a distant contact : note the time of the mark.
I just use a note pad (made of paper) .

No way to make "notes" on the chart. I do similar to you with paper, if I'm not lazy about it... :har: :salute:

... and PENCIL... that a person has to sharpen... I sometimes use my pocket knife to sharpen my pencil to write in SCRIPT - long-hand we used to call it in school... :har:
As a side-note, I know how to tie my shoes, but I do have a couple of velcro pairs also, for the old-man fickle flying fingers of flabbiness... :salute:
