Hi folks. As a semi-retired mechanical engineer I've always considered submarines to be one of the ultimate engineered devices, and so my interest is on the technical side. I'm also a fan of WW2 history. I just watched Das Boot for the second time in many years and am reading the book upon which it is based. I installed UBOAT from Steam and am a little disappointed that it models the wrong engine (9 cylinder instead of 6), but there I'm just quibbling. I've watched a number of youtube videos featuring SH5 and would like to install it as well. The consensus on-line seems to be NOT to use the Steam version, but instead to buy a DVD or download version of the original and patch/mod it. Can you recommend a trustworthy site from which to purchase/download it? I wasn't familiar with any of the sites I found Googling and don't want to send my credit card/paypal info to some flaky site. 1Coroner.

I bought it on Steam and Wolves of Steel installs fine, for what it's worth. Also check out Wolfpack if you are interested in the nitty gritty operation from an engineering point of view.

Can SteelViking's interior mod be used with the Steam version?

Pretty sure Steel Vikings interiors is part of Wolves of Steel, so I'd say yes
