New member looking for advice

I've recently got the game on Steam and downloaded the latest patch. I then downloaded GWX3 and nothing else. I play on windows 10. I'm having issues in career mode when in certain ports it gets to aout 90% and just goes off. I have searched the forums and there are lots of different answers. Just wondering if someone can push me in the right direction please.

... I'm having issues in career mode when in certain ports it gets to aout 90% and just goes off. ...Does that mean you saved a game while in a port and you cannot reload it afterwards? If so, that is one of the issues SH3 has with a tendency to corrupt savegame when other units are near. Try to only save a game when you are as sure as you can be of there not being other NPC units in the game or near on land. Do a hydrophone check to be sure there are none outside of visual rendering range. And saving submerged also has a tendency to cause problems.

There is little that can be done other than revert back to an older savegame and try again. The GWX 3 manual has a list of do's and don'ts in regards to prevent (savegame) bugs. Required reading material, although it applies to SH3 vanilla, not just GWX.

I know it is a pain, but such is life with this game. (hey, that rhimes :) )

Also when playing a SH3 Campaign when out on patrol I save my patrol saves as a date eg 12-4-42 ,14-4-42 ,18-4-42 so you can see what the ingame war date is on each save so you dont have to load them first also I write down on a A4 sheet every save date name and what i have sunk eg 4/28462Brt if all British or Grt if other Allied nations.

When you go back to an earlier save all saves after that save are deleted automaticaly.
