OK, How do I

Enjoying TWOS and out on 2nd Patrol and almost got totaled by 3 destroyers as a result of losing my situational awareness with relation to my vessel and the enemy.
So I wonder how I can enable the surface marker for outside view. I checked in the TWOS editor but could find nothing.

Yes that that is it - it is called the Umarker I believe. It shows from the outside view the direction your vessel is pointing in.

There is a mod for that somewhere in SH5 mod section. Can't remember where I saw it though...:hmmm:

Problem solved. All I had to do was to replace the umark.tga file with the original.

There is a circle with options top left corner when you are in map mode and u can click one of options that shows where your camera is.

No need for a mod, in the NavMap, you chose the triangle icon on the upper right, this will put a giant protractor centered on your u-boat showing you exactly all degrees in bearing and heading.


If you play with SH3-sytle dials you will not see your exact current course unless you order it previously, it will then be repeated in the message box, else you would have to change to SH5-style dials which have more functionality.

Oh well, I cannot understand how this is a problem..., it's easy to control outside view with WASD or SHIFT-WASD...Your sub is placed some meters ahead in the forward view.

I did say the problem was resolved. Obviously I did not make myself clear enough with my original post. No matter, all is good now :)
