Hadn't played in some time and was mystified why the dialog didn't jump up when I entered Pearl...I had done so on my first patrol...after several tries, I finally looked at the Icon. Back to a Newbie Rating....experience level reset...:O:

That happened to me once. Seems like a common occurrence.

new career, sailed out of Manila second patrol, heading back from Luzon and found I had been moved to Java; the sim never notified me.

There may have been message that was moved out of view by other messages coming in. I have seen the message at times, other times not.
Also, I have seen the message, then heading south W of Manila, the Tilted anchor was still in Manila. I was able to refit there with no problem.

On one bizarre recent patrol, I departed the docks at Manila, headed to the northern part of the bay for a recon mission targeting two carriers there while avoiding their three roaming escorts. All the time, the southern end of MB was filled with US tankers, the Manila port icon was gone, and there was no home port indicated anywhere. Sank the carriers and continued the patrol. Later in the patrol I received the Surabaya orders and the tilted anchor appeared there.
Hate that unannounced Brisbane-Fremantle transfer. IIRC, in 1.3 there was no tilted anchor to indicate home port.
