U-99 Video Patrol Log

I have been asked over the last few months to show my tutorials in action while in patrol.

I figure, why not just do a video log of my entire patrol while documenting my actions along the way.

My intention is to:

A) Showcase my immersion techniques that I have interpreted from books, film, and KTBs.

B) Provide links to my tutorials, mods, and resources, while performing those actions in game.

I ask from my community to provide constructive criticism, technical knowledge, and an open mind.

I will place these VLOGS here on this thread in the next couple of days.

Anyone know a good site to make a YouTube intro for my clips?

U-99 embarks on her 2nd deployment. Conducting anti-shipping operations in the "Black Gap". A section of the Atlantic that is so far in between Canada and British Isle, no air coverage can protect Allied shipping.

With a green crew, Commander Gruber must trek Northwestward, and seek out to bring a horizon of fear to the British navy, in the name of the Fatherland.

This small period of time in the battle of the Atlantic will forever be known as...

The Happy Times.

U-99 and her crew discover a ship engine sound during a routine hydrophone check; Morale gets low as the transit wears on; a giant storm stalls progress; a report of a convoy sparks hope!

Meanwhile in Germany, Admiral Doenitz convinces Hitler to lay keel, and invest in more U-Boats, establishing the Atlantic as a permanent battlefield that will last the entire war.

After receiving a radio contact regarding a distant convoy, U-99 makes her way south to intercept it.

With the crew's morale low, after several days of inactivity, Commander Gruber is unsure if he will successfully find this convoy, and give his men a sign of hope.

On the political side, Goering fails to assist Doenitz and his U-Boats with Luftwaffe support, favoring to assist the Fuhrer's land campaign for approval. Talks of a US handout to the British have been heard. A type of trade agreement between Roosevelt and Churchill would destroy everything the BDU have been working towards in the Battle of the Atlantic.

The men of the Kriegsmarine feel ever more isolated...

Decks awash is the best tool you will ever use in this game! As long as it’s a dark night with a turbulent sea, you can get real close! I have been almost 2000m undetected.

As U-99 surfaces, the crew enjoy the victory of a good kill. The celebration cuts short when they realize they must do it again.

When Gruber makes a mistake, he is forced to make a decision, which turns the hunter, into the hunted.

Thank you for making the series. I'm a new player and I find them really helpful. I do have a suggestion. It would be nice if you were able to describe what you are doing and why for the smaller things such as talking to crew, interactions with sub, plots, etc. The more info the better for those of us who are learning. With which program do you make your videos? (fraps? OBS? .... etc)

I used to use Fraps, then Bandicam. I just don’t feel good buying a recording system.

So now I use my GPU recorder. I use Radeon RX 580 and it records for me. I can record for hours unlike the others that only give 10 min unless you pay for it.

I use Resolve editor to add effects.

I´m also using Shadowplay to record, but I use Shotcut for editing and rendering.

Works pretty well as you can see in my new video :D
I just need to improve my sound recording.
