I have reached a limit to what I can absorb. I have started around 10 games trying to find my level of playing, plus watching tons of videos, reading and testing. But I can't figure something out. In my kapt.'s log and also the tab up top for mission orders, it lists AN1814 as my patrol area; BUT on large navigation map I only see AN14 or AN18, or BF12, ect.

So, what did I do, not do to set up my game?? I looked thru. posts here & in workshop area also, but can't see anything.

Thanks,

MN

What you do is: you use the 'Grid Tool', you hit E, you chose this tool in the Map tools, you drag it where it covers the area. You can change its size to exactly fit the aerea of a coded patrol zone. Then you mark the exact coordinates with a supermark.

When you leave session, save your journal with a name, so supermarks are saved. You reload the journal when you reload the savegame.

All this assumes that you are playing with WoS or with a decent modded SH5 game having the NewUI_7_5_0 loaded, this feature is not there in the stock game.

Good hunting,

thanks, I know you are going to get annoyed with me but; where is grid tool??

AND, when I went back in game to start another game, I noticed that when you get to bunker first time, it says save game, go to main menu, reloaded. Okay, I did. But when I come back to bunker after re-loading, the box that pops up, then counts down, from 5, then you click okay, the message box says "there's a problem with campaign advancement, save, reload, etc. Is this normal??? I save 2-3 times, but last part of message keeps popping up.

Sorry, but I am just reaching a brain freeze.

Here is an updated link, not yet in the WoS documentation about campaign advancement. You must follow to the letter the red messages that come in your message box in-game when the campaign reaches its end:

I can recommend you these videos for learning all about NewUIs and how to use it:
Go to Youtube, and enter this in the search:
"How to use the MO or the TDW interface in SH5 part 1-6"
There are 6 videos from Stoianm, not perfect English but perfect explanation, so enjoy :yep:

My signature has videos as well. Just click on it to learn how to use the marine quadrant map.

You are welcome and continue asking if you have problems :03:

Tip: When I started playing WoS years ago, I found it helpful to start a text search in the 'Quickstart Manual & Gameplay Tips' pdf doc (it is in your game folder after WoS install). I found that many of my questions were answered there. The text search is more effective and faster than just reading it from A-Z.
