Ran into the BB NELSON-today

I was just cruise'n when Bam!! I was in the right place at the right time I guess. I large Convoy hauling butt...I spot several DD up front a BB in middle and quickly maneuver for a shot. Launch 2 electrics at 5.1 meters deep at a range of 1600 meters followed quickly by 2 more G7's on fast 9 meters deep all hit within a few seconds of the first.
1 BB down WOOT !
Then comes the DD's mad as Hornets....5 DD's hunt me for 2 hours..I was at 90 meters most times..silent running
A few times I had est. 800 meters from them (med range sonar) But I was too scared to go to 2/3 speed on electric. ** SHOULD I have ??**
They finally got my number and sank me :(
It was great fun.....I thought for sure I was going to get away but they keep circling around back at me until 1 pinged me (hard) and the rest came in..it was all over at that point.
** not sure If I should have gunned it when that 1 DD pinged me or not **

Lucky for me I had just did a Manual save right before contact..I am going to try that one again.......GREAT FUN ! !

Yes you should have gone faster. If you hear the pinging, they know where you are. The accuracy will differ, pending on your depth, weather, sea state, etc. hope this video helps.

Will Say the pinging will get more frequent when the DD gets closer to your boat and then it will shut off and you will hear the depth charges splashing the water. , depending on your depth, the explosions will explode within a certain time frame-- If they explode too fast then that is a shallow depth. if it takes more then a minute than that will be deeper depth. I time the depth charges as well as doing maneuvers that will lower the profile of your boat

Yup, I was in too close on that first game..this next one I Put 4 Fish into that BB around 2400 meters. This gave me more time to turn and run from the circle of DEATH...only took about 20-30 minutes to clear the DD's.
