A new opinion piece for you all to look at, this time its about the smaller warships we have in our navies.
The Corvette type vessels have played huge roles in many navies around the world and were the back bone of the two world wars.
My top 5 are not limited to just that era so have a read and find out what my top 5 are and also get involved and lets see what your top 5 would be.

When I saw top 5 corvettes, I thought the 1963 split window Corvette with the fuel injected 360 hp 327 and the conservatively rated 425 hp 1967 Corvette Stingray. :)
Seeing as how you meant the sea faring version of the Corvette, I would have to go with the Flower Class as well.

Same here ... I thought 1954, to 2020, but for a fast replacement of an old Corvette class would be the new tri-hulls many foreign navies have now.

I think I would agree with that. Technology has developed to where they are even more a formidable class of ships than they were before. :yep:

Needless to say Jim one of my favorite classes of all time and as you know my departure from blighty is not far away my chances of seeing the only one left have just increased substantially so watch this space :D
I think even the major navies have seen an opening for these types of vessel Russia uses a lot of them so does China but now were seeing the Royal navy type 31 which is smaller than the type 26 but could be considered a large corvette the USN LCS vessels arguable could also be classified as corvette.
