Grandfather's pocket watch.

When my grandfather past in 07, he gave me his pocket watch. I've had it put up since then, but from time to time, I've gotten it out to admire. Recently I started expressing how I would love to be able to display it.

So, the girls surprised me with a pocket watch stand for my birthday yesterday!

I really wish i had done this sooner, but I don't think I would have appreciated as much as I do now. Something about hearing it tick away, is surprisingly satisfying.

The stand was a great birthday present and obviously, the girls knew it would mean a lot to you. The pocket watch looks like it's in good condition. It looks like a railroad model.

I find that when it comes to giving me presents for a birthday, fathers day or christmas my daughter is far more innovative than my son.

From time to time, the girls catch me off guard with something like this.

My grandmother had mentioned she thought it was a railroad piece, but that's all I know about it.

I will try to wind it every day. I was fearful of winding it too much, so I've only been giving it three to four turns.
I will also see about finding someone to do the maintenance.
