Renata Emin, a marine specialist, told Brazilian news site Journal O Liberal: “We're still not sure how it landed here, but we're guessing that the creature was floating close to the shore and the tide, which has been pretty considerable over the past few days, picked it up and threw it inland, into the mangrove."

Probably the most plausible explanation.

"The Maritime Herald suggested the whale may have died after ingesting plastics from the ocean before being swept along by the waves into the jungle’s shore." :shifty:

Ya who cares about the truth, unfortunately until the autopsy is completed, if there is one, nobody will really know what that is. Until then the unlikely death of a baleen whale from ingesting plastics, or the likelihood by a shark, or plain old statistics on infant mortality rate of humpback whale calves is just as plausible as ALIENS. :hmph::)

Suggestions/opinions are like buttholes, everybody has one. Well, everyone except Kim Jong Un. :yep:

I know its mean, but why does Cortez remind me of Sid from Ice Age?

^ I also know it's soo mean just to dare asking this, but why is it that mostly right wingers make fun of people who show some empathy for the non-human world, especially when it is perfectly clear who did the damage :hmmm:
It is not clear why this whale died, can be anything, right.

Don't want to spoil your party ..

Well that escalated quickly.
I cant speak for em2nought
but dont assume i'm right wing and don't care about the environment Ive only voted twice in my life an it was for Greens and Labour lol.
I guess I'm an EU skeptic and this is strike 2?
But, just because I took the mick out of her appearance, (which hardly undermines her policies) it means very little, same as if someone is comparing Trump to a Sun dried Ompa Loompa with some peroxide? don't mean they are a hardcore Lefty.
Not exactly a political compass test is it?

However posting a set of news links is a stronger indicator of a persons leanings.
And that set of links you posted is not exactly impartial ^.
(As I'm sure you'd point out if someone posted a set of links including the likes of Fox, brietfart, DailMail & Daily Caller etc claiming global warming is a myth.)
Not that I have any big reason to doubt the validity of your articles - and probably agree with half of them in this case. I'm just saying it reads as you complaining about hacks and then being hack yourself, which is a no win situation.

Sorry, i just don't hero worship any politician, they are all ripe for ridicule as far as I'm concerned.
Serious opinion of Cortez? well intentioned? - yes, well read? - no.
The reason she is collectively so well known is because
a) She's a young, energetic social justice radical who ousted an incumbent.
b) She's a gaff queen who pulls statistics out of her ass and makes a tit of her self on live TV.

Take your pick.
She'll either go all the way to the top, or get kicked out the Dems within a year. All bets are off at this point.

Hey, wasn't this thread about humpback wales?

@Ju88 i did not mean you especially. I don't even know who this 'Cortez' is :hmmm:
In the article mentioned in Jim's original post there are some "Renata Emin" and "Dirlene Silva", not that those names mean anything to me as well.

Rockstar was the first getting a political spin into this thread, and this is what always happens when anyone utters any concern for the environment, or dares to criticize what laziness and greed usually do. All people who care are tree huggers/liberal left/snowflakes and most probably communists. I just wonder why.

Here's an 'environmentalist' who sure was not a "tree hugger/liberal left/snowflake or communist", but he sure had his own views of the morality of violence when it comes to destroying the environment: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edward_Abbey
Read some stuff of him, it's good.

edit: I liked "A fire on the mountain" and "The monkey wrench gang". Look out for Hayduke :03:
