.. already at february, 8th. Some will know him for his automotive book series, the "Haynes manuals". I am sure he helped a lot of people with it.. R.I.P.

Very sorry to hear of John's passing. Like many, I have consulted his auto manuals when working on cars. I used Chilton's as well. I always admired his entrepreneurial endeavors. One of the more interesting things about his series of manuals is the ownership manuals on aircraft, ships and submarines.

Certainly well known in the UK and much of the world as well I suspect.

Yep, well known over here as well. I had a decent collection of his books when i was young.
