‘Biggest Ever’ Shipment Of Meth Was Hidden In Speakers Bound For Australia
More than 1.7 tons of methamphetamine, cocaine and heroin were discovered on Jan. 11 concealed within a shipment of loud speakers on a ship at the Los Angeles/Long Beach seaport. The drugs were in two containers that had been destined for Australia.
The drugs were found concealed inside dozens of metal boxes that were declared as “Single Loud Speakers.” The seizure included 3,810 pounds of methamphetamine, 55.9 pounds of cocaine and 11.5 pounds of heroin.
“This is the biggest ever seizure of methamphetamine – more than 1.7 tons – stopped before it had a chance to reach Australian streets,”
Bruce Hill, Australian Federal Police’s national manager organized crime assistant commissioner, said in a statement.
Two U.S. citizens and four Australian citizens were arrested as part of the bust.

^ I guess the druggies are happy this bust didn't take place before Xmas. The large seizure of drugs including cocaine would have meant that none of the druggies would have had a " white " Xmas. :03:
The speakers were tweeters since they obviously only played 'high' tones. :yep:
Hmm, gay speakers! :hmmm:

Nothing else. Remember it's all coming over the Mexican border. Trump has said so.

I too have often wondered how much gets apprehended and how much gets through ... the only way they can truly estimate the use of drugs is the users they catch and interview. The drug network in our country and perhaps yours is astronomical. Way out of hand ... :yep:
I've heard estimates of maybe 10% is being caught. I pray for the DEA to try for 50% till they can go for the rest of it and I think the DEA should change their name to the Drug Education Agency and start with the 5 year old children in kindergarten that drugs are bad for you.

This was Long Beach, California about 150 miles from the Mexican border ... no telling where it came from just where it was going.
They say that the area is was going to uses 2 tons a year of the drug called ICE ... this was 1.3 tons of the same drug :o

Yeah. Start ANOTHER FAILED D.A.R.E. program that costs millions and is proven to be a total flop!

I have friends that used D.A.R.E. as a shopping guide.

Yeah, obviously we are only seeing the tip of a very large iceberg.
Quite frightening really.

Reports here are of Mexican origin too.
Mexican cartels are known to be the big players pushing their junk here, and have been for quite a while.

They say the testimonies of bribery have been sealed ... :o
But then again they could've lied ... how do you prove it

Who are "they"? As far as I've read about the case, the only known sealed testimonies were of a salacious nature, i.e., Guzman & Co. raping young girls; Guzman's bribery of Mexican officers, officials, and politicians is very well known and documented. The reason I ask is because, if the 'sealed' testimonies relate to the bribery of US officers, officials, and politicians, then that is a very egregious abuse of the legal system if the intent was/is to shield US participants from facing justice for their own crimes...

Zambada's father is the big bad wolf
I know not to trust FB postings, but I suppose it was the names of individuals of the agencies involved were sealed not the agencies themselves. I won't point figures at the US Government officials, but CBS reported something is not right about all of this drug trade and even point at another man is in charge of the Cartel (Zamabada) not El Chapo himself and he is still in charge. Too much money involved not to have some dirty hands somewhere. :o
