Can you play in offline mode without entering email and password and, if so, how do you do that?


You don't need that for Steam but seem to need that for Silent Hunter.

As per your information you have the steam version?


As I know with the UBI version you can play offline. Just go to the ubi settings and put it in offline modus.
Should work normally also for Steam. At least for some games I have on Steam it works fine. Don`t know though for SH5

No. I have the Ubisoft version, not the Steam version. I can start Steam in off line mode and don't need a password. Make sense. However, when I open the Silent Hunter, it prompts me for an email address and password before the game launches. When I exit the game a screen tells me I am in Ubisoft offline mode. I have unchecked the "Enable cloud saves synchronization for supported games" box but the game still indicates it is synchronizing saved games from the server. Something I am doing is wrong I think.

Thanks for replying. That's what I did and I still have to log on. Yet a screen tells me "Uplay is in offline mode." I am puzzled. Something is wrong. What is the point of being in offline mode when you also have to log on?
