Hi B
Why?:salute:
There is no reason why SH4 should not work on Windows 10 and without a compatibility mode unlike SH3 which does, and SH5 which again does not.
So, what are you doing, or probably more importantly not doing?
We vultures, ahem, need a bit of meat to work on. :)

What version of SH4 are you trying to run? Is it off a disc or download? What kind of computer, laptop or PC? :06:

Please delete the following folder:
C:\Users\xxxxxx\Documents\SH4 where xxxxxx is your user name...
You will lose all save game data...
then try again...

Also.... What are your system specs? Have you applied LAA & another 4GB patch?

Hi B
You do not want to install your game in the program (x86) file as it is a directory with restrictions.
Set your SH4.exe as an administrator before starting the game.

Irrespective of what game version you have your stock game should be able to load to the games main menu.

Check that your gpu is correctly setup for any SH version.

Here is another optional fix.

It is also possible that a system update can change driver settings.

Don't forget the save folder, if the game is having constant CTD's. And you have re-installed the game and still getting the same messages, your next task is to always delete the save folder, or use MultiSH3 to create a new folder...

If you don't have to worry about trying to save any of your career saves, just delete all of the folders and files in the "My Documents \ SH4" folder. Then uninstall Silent Hunter 4. In theory, you shouldn't have to do any registry editing, so stay away from that for now. Then do a re-install of Silent Hunter 4: Wolves of the Pacific Gold Edition, but when it gets to the "path", where it shows that it will install the game to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft \Silent Hunter...", that's where you want to interrupt and edit that path to a folder that you want. I usually just delete the "Program Files (x86)\" portion of the path anymore, and have it go into "C:\Ubisoft \Silent Hunter..."

Be sure you let it install the DirectX v9.0c that is on the game disk. You don't need the Adobe Acrobat or the UPlay stuff, but you do need the DirectX v9.0c, since the DirectX with Windows 10 does not have all of the library files that SH4 needs. :salute:
