View Full Version : SH3 repair interface, need help.
Dear subsimmers,
after 5 years long hiatus it`s time to Silent Hunter.
And it is a blast! I enyoy it more than ever.
However got a little problem...
In damage control team window i can only choose a few of compartments.
The rest of them don`t react to cursor in any way,so i can`t choose it.
My ship can be destroyed/flooded without damage team trying to stop flooding/repair damage.
Do you have any idea how to fix it in the files? I don`t wan`t to reinstall all my mods in the middle of career(especially H.Sie`s and Stiebler`s ones).
I`m sure it could be corrected inside the files, but i don`t know where to find a proper file/line inside the file.
Here`s my modlist:
Generic Mod Enabler - v2.6.0.157
[D:\GRY\SilentHunterIII\MODS]
NYGM Tonnage War V2.5 – Stand Alone Version
NYGM3_New
NYGM3_6F

Stiebler4C_Addon_for_V16B1
Optional O2-Gauges v2 (for V16B1)

I remember you as bunch of great, mature, helpful and down to earth guys (I especialy remember H.sie,do you know how is he doing anyway? ).Hope you can help.
Cheers! :salute:

I'm not sure if I can answer your question, but I think some mods don't allow you to perform repairs under certain conditions..
For example, underwater, I think there are certain things you can't fix.. you have to surface..
Maybe I'm way off, but I don't have a better answer..
Jeff
and welcome back sir!
Thanks Jeff, but I`m sure that`s not the case.
When you get the cursor over certain compartment (in the "damage control team", the little window on upper left corner) you get a yellow frame around it, and then you can click it. I don`t get the frame nor can I click to select it on most compartment.Actually i can select only front and rear quarters , and the three compartments on the deck(deck gun, turm and flak). I`d post pictures but i don`t know how. So when under water i can select the deck gun but can`t repair it and that`s fine. The problem is i can`t even click/select most compartments.

This is not a bug,
This is NYGM No Damage Control Mod:
@Der Teddy Bar, Years ago he had explained
"The idea for the NYGM No Damage Control Mod was gouldjg’s. It was his request for this that prompted me to search out a way to stop the use of the Damage Control team for certain compartments. Now, the Damage Control Team can only be used for the crew quarters, the conning tower & AA/Deck guns. All damage for a compartment must be done by the men within that compartment. We have also moved the repair (only) of the batteries from the crew quarters to the bow torpedo room. The only times that you will have a use for the Damage Control Team is for flooding of crew quarters or for external repairs."
But if you read the manual that is inside the NYGM mod folder, this explained very well by Stiebler
@Blaz
there are 2 errors in your Mod list ... IABLShipsforNYGM_New_Thomsen
And
MFM-Interim-Beta_NYGM
they should not be enabled together, or choose one or the other, otherwise you may encounter problems sinking some types of ship (for example torpedoes that literally cross the ship, as if the target did not exist)
- SH3_Commander_Updates_for_NYGM must NOT be enabled with JSGME .. but the files inside it must be copied / pasted into the ".cfg" folder of SH3Commander--->data--->cfg
:salute:
I see...So you both are right. Thank you!
I`ve read all the manuals and don`y remember anything about damage control team, guess i have to read the manuals once again.
So when I get flooding for example in diesel compartment ther`s nothing I can do but to sink? I definietly have to read the explanation in the manual(Those guys don`t have bar ideas :salute:).

You`re right I`ve wasted few torpedoes and shells because of that.
So which one do you prefer? What are the differences? Can`t find any info about the first.
I`ll take a look into my modlist, and read the manuals once again.
And thank you once again guys, you`ve already enchanced my SH3 experience. :Kaleun_Applaud:

I prefer
IABL ship for NYGMThomsen ships but many others people prefer MFM interim beta.
With MFM-Interim
You should install MFM-Interim-Beta_NYGM after MFM. It corrects some ship parameters for proper behavior in NYGM. You can use it with MFM v3.2, and work good,
With MFM v3.3 abnormal behavior of ships and/or crashes may occur
If you want play with MFM interim beta you need install so.. For example
NYGM Tonnage War V2.5 stand alone
NYGM3_New
NYGM3_6F
NYGM 2017A
Merchant_Fleet_Mod_3.2---->need!
MFM-Interim-Beta_NYGM
Etc
Etc
Etc....
So you play with more ship
But possible little bug with some(few) ships
If you want play with JABL Thomsen :
NYGM Tonnage War V2.5 stand alone
NYGM3_New
NYGM3_6F
NYGM 2017A
IABL ship for NYGM Thomsen ships
Etc
Etc
Etc..
No many ship...more realistic ( for me!)
And Work good 100% with every ships
