This will be a series following U-838 (VIIC/41) on her long and interesting voyage to the Far East Weekly updates on progress will be posted and since I'm Keeping a handwritten KTB I will also put up pics of significant events this will be a "Unrealistic" patrol since I plan to spend almost the entire campaign at sea Hope you enjoy ***Please disregard the old thread***

1st entry U-838 departs La Rochelle on March 1, 1943 at 15:15 she is heading to the Gulf of Cadiz where she will operate for 2 weeks 250 km W of Gibraltar

U-838 successfully attacked an outward bound convoy sinking 3 warships and 2 large tankers for 25,050 grt and damaged a third freighter for 5000 grt she is currently approaching the 100 km line from Gibraltar

U-838 is now within the Gibraltar area heavy seas and numerous aircraft have hampered operations but a contact is expected after 18:00

U-838 has successfully entered and exited the Mediterranean sinking 2 battleships and damaging 1, 1 heavy cruiser, 2 destroyers and 3 merchant ships all were sunk at Gibraltar U-838 resupplied at Toulon and went back through the straits entering the Gulf of Cadiz 36 hrs later she is now heading back into the Atlantic
