SH4 V1.5 installed from CD, only mod is for sonar direction via mouse

Newly errant behavior... I can enter and play canned missions, but when I try to load the most recent saved game, the game hangs at the PLEASE WAIT screen for a lengthy period then crashes to the desktop...

The game in question was the first saved game I was able to successfully load after failing with a half dozen more recent games that crashed as above.

Thoughts? :06:

Are you trying to use old saved games on a new install of SH4? Because if you are they won't work. They won't be compatible with the new install.

Thanks for the reply...

Nope.. been playing this install for about 6-8 months without a problem loading any saved game from the menu...

Hi jim
It is advised to use the LAA application Large Address Aware for SH4, there are some posts on this in my SH4 tutorial.
The game should not be installed in the Program Files (x86) directory by choice as it has restrictions which can affect your game.

Make sure your SH4.exe is set to run as an administrator as in this SH5 tutorial.

While you have a problem it is also a good opportunity to check that your gpu is setup for any SH game.
