The Mega Millions jackpot drawing on Oct. 23 has soared to $1.6 billion :o
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/current-mega-millions-jackpot-is-1-6-billion-but-where-do-lottery-profits-really-go/
Plus the California Powerball winning lotto ticket is now up to $620 million someone said that winning the lotto when it is this big is like putting everyone's name in America (man, woman and child) in one of those big a big dimpsty dumpster's and then reaching in and they pick your name. 😯
I would buy every business in my small town and rename it Quatro Valley :yep:

I would probably spend way too much time saying no to people.
First of all I would give Neal and Subsim a huge contribution.
Then I would buy an island and invite those(not to many) I like and live there for the rest of my life. and hopefully my friends will do the same.
And of course
With lots of animal around me.

I would probably spend way too much time saying no to people.
I would do the opposite, I would reserve $50 million for myself and then have a ball rewarding people I appreciate.:Kaleun_Cheers:

I thought the tax bite would be higher ... perhaps 50%, but this says different.
I don't think I would take the thirty (30) year option ... we don't even know if the ground we stand on will still be here in 30 years.
https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/taxes/heres-the-tax-bite-on-dollar16-billion-mega-millions-and-dollar620-million-powerball-jackpots/ar-BBOJ1gl
Here's the tax bite on $1.6 billion Mega Millions and $620 million Powerball jackpots
The immediate cash option for Mega Millions is $904 million. The federal withholding would reduce that by $217 million. For the $354.3 million Powerball lump sum, it would mean $85 million getting shaved off the top.
The chance of winning both lotteries is at least 1 in 88 quadrillion (that's 88 followed by 15 zeros).

Truth be told, probably spend my way into an early grave. But it would be a wild ride!

Everything would be put in order, and I'd blow this pop stand. :D
Oh yeah, I kind of liked the idea of those three billboards outside Ebbing, Missouri so there'd be some sarcastic billboards showing up anywhere they might trigger a certain audience. :D:D:D

Set up my family and friends for life and give the rest to those mostly in need.

I would set up the environmental organization "GreenWar", order and buy a type 214mod from TKMS (including the 300 million maintenance order), and seriously threaten the Japanese whaling fleet first. :o
Then I become known as buccaneer "Crazy duck" and create a great mess on all oceans. Arrgh!!!
:haha:

I would have a big extravaganza party for subsim members only in Hawaii
I would of course foot the bill and pay for everything round trip plane fare , hotel, breakfast, lunch and dinner, transportation trips to the USS Missouri and the submarine on display there.
Then I would get Reece drunk and entice his wife to run off with me to Hong Kong :woot:

How can one then imagine this donation... :hmmm:
Will there be a select set of six sheet-gold coated heavyweight torpedoes with handwritten insignia of "ikalugin" on Putin's birthday?!?
:haha:

I would spend a bunch of it on cheap women and expensive booze. The rest of the money I would probably waste :D
We all have dreams about what we would do if we won the big lottery.
The question that pops up in my head is:
How would we react mentally and psychologically
Of course to begin with we would be overjoyed, but what after a year or two ?
I have some memory from Danish and Swedish news article about people who have won big time in the local lottery.
After 2 or 3 years after they were broke and had a huge debt and they were really down psychologically.

Winning a lottery does not suddenly make a person smart, nor does it get rid of any problems/issues the person may mentally have.
In some cases, sudden wealth will enable a faster destruction of the person. Drug addicts would be one example.
However smart people with their act together win lotteries and we never hear about them because they are quietly living their lives sensibly.

Don't you just love it when the big lottery winners say things like, "I'm going to get a new home and keep my old job" :yep:

Seems this wasn't the largest lottery ever played ... false advertising of a payout of 1.6 billion dollars was just an estimate.
a convenience store on a country road in South Carolina sold a single winning ticket worth $1.537 billion
https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/south-carolina-convenience-store-sold-dollar1537-billion-ticket/ar-BBOPE74
"The final total was less than the $1.6 billion estimate,"
An earlier Mega Millions estimate of $1.6 billion would have been a world record for lotteries, but actual sales came in below the $1.586 billion Powerball jackpot prize shared by winners in California, Florida and Tennessee in January of 2016.
The ticket is worth about $877.8 million in a lump-sum cash payment, which most winners choose to take, rather than collect the full amount in annual payments over three decades.

What if some drunk bought the winning ticket and went home and undressed and threw the pants in the washing machine :o
Lottery officials in South Carolina on Tuesday said the winner of the $1.5 billion Mega Millions jackpot has still not stepped forward even though the drawing was nearly three weeks ago.
South Carolina’s WLTX reported that the winning ticket was sold in the town of Simpsonville. The report said that the winner has 180 days to step forward. The winner’s time runs out on April 21.

I'd establish a trust fund and link it to a sheltered residential area (with live-in staff) for autistic and other special-needs people, to remove the worry about their futures
