Ahoy shipmates i just wanted to share an experience with you guys and maybe encourage people with my experience.
Today I had a mole removed from my back which I have had for about 30 years, until a few months ago it never bothered me, however this year it was quite a warm summer in Scotland and it grew larger, changed shape, black bits appeared in it and it became itchy.
As a submariner in the Royal Navy i wasnt exposed to much sunshine over the last 27 years but a particular warm season this year prompted me to seek medical advice and today I had it (i called it the crab) removed.
The procedure was pretty much pain free and the crab and I parted company after a long time together, no tears from me as I'm glad to see the back of this passenger.
The doctor has sent it off for tests to ensure its not cancerous so ill await the feedback.
I recommend anyone who notices any changes in thier moles to get them seen to ASAP, its a pain free surgery.
