Hi. I am looking to buy skipper hats from both US and Kriegsmarine. Anyone has a website to order those? Replica is preferred. Tried ebay without luck. Tks.

Museum Replicas has a nice Uboat hat.
Warhats.com is another place I am surprised you had not found.
A simple google search shows quite a few places that will sell a hat like that. I can't opine on the quality though as I have only done business with Museum Replicas
Good luck. I don't think you will have a problem finding a company willing to sell you one. It is just a matter of finding the right price for the right quality

One question: The US skippers wore the khaki or the white hat during patrols? I think the white was worn during official ceremonies...

Given that in the Navy covers (hats) are only to be worn out-of-doors, never inside, It's likely that they didn't wear them at all except when entering and leaving port.
As to your question, as it does apply to surface ships: Khaki hats are worn with khaki (work) uniforms. White hats are worn with dress blue uniforms.

I always wondered about that when I watch WWII submarine movies. While wearing the officer caps looks spiffy, I can't imagine much that would be less practical than wearing a cap in a cramped hot submarine.
But then military uniform rules don't always make a practical sense.

Neither does Hollywood; often the considerations are not for what would be authentic and true to life but, rather, for what 'looks good' on the screen...

So in WWII what were the rules for wearing a cover on a submarine?
And have these changed for today's submarine force?

While I'm not a fan of Amazon, they and ebay have a stranglehold on many products. Search for WW2 Navy caps on Amazon and you'll find all you need.

I'm pretty sure they didn't wear blue baseball caps way back when. :03:

dress among U.S. submarines on patrol was very informal, even for officers, you can find many photos of officers wearing informal caps.

Good point and vienna's too about the movie submarine officers. I have visited a lot of old WWII boats and from what I have seen you would need a hard hat on some of them from all of the overhead piping systems.

THERE IS A SIMPLE $5.00 (ACTUALLY $6.81 AT HOME DEPOT:o) SOLUTION FOR A GLANCING BLOW WHICH WE ALL WEAR AS RELIGIOUSLY AS OUR LIFE JACKETS; https://images.homedepot-static.com/productImages/f7040f46-ebbd-49da-b6a6-2594d2f88b58/svn/blacks-erb-hard-hats-19402-64_145.jpg https://images.homedepot-static.com/productImages/15453f03-82fe-4441-a8b3-fc03f64ea37d/svn/blacks-erb-hard-hats-19402-c3_145.jpg THE ERB 'BALLCAP BUMPCAP. ON A HOT DAY WITH THE FOAM RUBBER LINER, IT'S A BIT OF A HEATSINK, BUT TWO WEEKS AGO I TOOK A LIGHT HIT TO THE HEAD FROM THE BOOM WHICH I GENERALLY SET A 'FIST' HIGHER THAN MY OWN HEIGHT AS THE TALLEST ON THE VESSEL. I PREFER PERSPERATION OVER A SERIOUS MIGRAINE ANY DAY..... SHOULD WORK VERY WELL ON A REAL SUNLESS BOOMER 1000 FEET DOWN UNDER A NAVY BLUE BALL CAP.....https://www.homedepot.com/p/ERB-Bump-Cap-Insert-with-Foam-Pad-Fits-Inside-Low-Profile-Baseball-Cap-19402/204374244 (https://www.homedepot.com/p/ERB-Bump-Cap-Insert-with-Foam-Pad-Fits-Inside-Low-Profile-Baseball-Cap-19402/204374244)
